Sometimes the Holy Spirit leaves a scent on me. He seems to come in quiet moments in the midst of my surrendering.
For a minute, I set aside my wants and my will to Him, and simply receive whatever He has to give.
I say, “Holy Spirit come”.
Breathe your life into me and leave your scent upon me.
It’s like He knows best how to waft through a room. He touches hearts and changes minds almost magically.
Sometimes we don’t have to say a word. He can leave such a strong impression with a person simply by being Him.
Simply by me being around Him.
Honestly, I get smelly without Him leaving His scent of glory on me.
I wonder if…
Do I leave the Holy Spirit’s scent lingering in a room when I leave?
Or do I just do my own thing?
If I listen, I will hear His whispers in promptings to speak, or not to speak.
That is the question.
Sometimes, the Holy Spirit does His thing and doesn’t need me.
He works supernaturally!
If you’re a Christian, have you ever wondered if people can tell that you are, without you having to say anything?
If you’re not a Christian, have you ever experienced the love of God through another person through them just being a friend, and not through them preaching with words?
I pray that as we consider the Holy Spirit as one of the parts to the God of all creation, we all get left smelling a little sweeter, and leave understanding a little more…
of what life in the Spirit smells like.

” But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
Galations 5:22-23 NLT

I want to breathe Him in moment by moment so I can breathe Him out everywhere I go!
Shannon, you just said that perfectly. I love that! Come Holy Spirit, come!
Amy, your blog, your loving encouragement, your wisdom, just gathers me up in His presence. I want to be noticed as a daughter of God — yes — without me ever needing to say a word!! How beautiful! I pray I do leaves traces of Him where I go, as He flows through me, and I want to become increasingly open wide for everything He has. I don’t want to miss out on this Life! Bless you! You bless me greatly, sweet friend.
